Sahrudin Jamal
Sahruddin Jamal, a doctor and Bukit Kepong assemblyman since 2018, is the PN (Bersatu) candidate in 2026. He was Johor's 17th and shortest-serving Menteri Besar (2019-2020) and has chaired Bersatu Johor since 2022.

Background
- From Muar; born on 26 May 1975 in Kampung Baru Batu 28, Lenga, Muar, Johor; schooled at SMK Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah 1, Pagoh.[1][2]
- Holds a medical degree (Sarjana Perubatan) from Hasanuddin University, Makassar, Indonesia, and served as a medical officer at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, Muar for five years.[1][2]
- Ran three private clinics named Klinik Sahruddin in Bukit Pasir, Bandar Universiti Pagoh and Pagoh before entering active politics.[1]
- Has been the Bukit Kepong state assemblyman since May 2018, winning the seat at the 2018 general election (47.90% of the vote) and retaining it at the 2022 state election with a 710-vote majority.[1][3]
Ideologies
- States that he accepts open, democratic competition, including against PAS in Bukit Kepong: "If PAS wants to contest there, we accept it. Bersatu has no problem."[3]

- On 27 January 2026, 14 of Bersatu Johor's 26 division chiefs publicly urged Sahruddin to step down as Bersatu Johor chairman, saying they had lost confidence in his leadership over a failure to unite the party leadership and neglect of grassroots issues.[8]
- Resigned as Perikatan Nasional Johor chairman on 30 December 2025 following national PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin's resignation; Sahruddin stated there were no internal conflicts within PN Johor.[7]
- His tenure as Menteri Besar of Johor lasted only 321 days, the shortest of any Johor Menteri Besar in the state's history.[1]
