Background
- Born 2 January 1960 in Muar, Johor; an engineer with a BSc in control engineering from the University of Sheffield and an MBA from UKM; holds the title Dato'.[1]
- Pantai Jerejak assemblyman and Penang Deputy Chief Minister I (2013-2018); later Batu Pahat MP (2018-2022) and Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat (2018-2022).[1]
- A founding member of PKR before joining Bersatu in 2020.[1]
- Lost the Batu Pahat parliamentary seat in 2022 to Onn Abu Bakar (PKR), whom he now meets again in Senggarang.[1]
